Annual CPR & LVR Training

By October 19, 2022No Comments

All our Port Douglas Electricians at Dolphin Electrical are required to complete an annual CPR & LVR refresher as part of their licencing validity when holding an Electrical Workers Licence.  This is a requirement legislated by the QLD Government and enforced by the Electrical Safety Office (ESO) through regular checks. Fines and loss of licence can be issued by the ESO if these are not in place and updated yearly.

In previous years we have paid for our staff to attend the Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) & Low Volt Rescue (LVR) courses in Cairns however this year we decided to bring the training to us. As there is not a local company that is able to provide the LVR Training we engaged the First Aid Academy in Cairns to conduct the training at our Work Shed in Craiglie. Their trainer Dermot travelled up to Cairns to take us through the course.

We were able to make use of our air-conditioned staff room and office space to spread out and take part in the practical CPR component so that everyone had the opportunity to practice on the training dummies. It was a great opportunity to get the team together and throw around some ideas and tips on what to do in various emergency situations.

We also invited the boys from Protocool Air-Conditioning to join us as they are required to do annual CPR training as well. We work closely with Protocool as they are our recommended air-con technicians but we don’t often get the chance to get both teams together.

All our staff including our electrical apprentices and our admin staff are now up to date with their CPR Training. Our Electricians and Electrical Apprentices also completed the LVR course so they can help each other if an electrical emergency occurs while onsite at a job.
